This AAT Level 3 & 4 package includes two AAT training courses, which will help you work towards becoming a confident Accountant, with the right skills and knowledge. These package includes the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) and the Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4).

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) focusses on giving you the skills and knowledge to be able to work in senior accounting roles and handle tasks, such as advanced bookkeeping, final accounts preparation and indirect tax. Upon completion of this level you’ll be awarded professional AAT Bookkeeper status, giving you AATQB status (and the initials after your name), allowing you to submit final balances for any sized organisation.

AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) focusses on what you have learnt throughout levels 2 and 3, while teaching you how to evaluate financial performance and manage budgets. This course has a selection of optional modules, including: Business Tax, Personal Tax, External Auditing, Cash and Treasury Management and Credit Management. Level 4 leads towards you applying for the AAT full membership and achieve professional MAAT status.

Is the AAT Accounting Level 3 and Level 4 package right for me?

Delegates looking to work towards their AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting Level 3 and Level 4, must first have completed the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2), or have gained sufficient experience in an accounting role.

Due to the nature of this course, we also recommend that students:

Course Overview & Syllabus

What does the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) and Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) package cover?

Building on the skills and techniques you’ve developed during the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2), levels 3 and 4 will provide you with a detailed understanding of more complex accounting processes, to prepare you for senior job roles.

What are the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) and Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) online course modules?

The six modules that you’ll cover in the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3), are:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts Preparation
  • Indirect Tax
  • Management Accounting: Costing
  • Ethics for Accountants
  • Spreadsheets for Accounting

The AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) is made up of 4 mandatory modules and a choice of 5 options modules (of which you must complete 2).

Mandatory Modules include:

  • Management Accounting: Budgeting
  • Management Accounting: Decision and Control
  • Financial Statements of Limited Companies
  • Accounting Systems and Controls
  • Professional Diploma Synoptic Assessment

Optional modules include:

It’s best to complete the mandatory modules first and then decide which optional modules you want to study, as your decision may change by the time you complete the mandatory modules. One other thing to consider is that if you’re considering specialising in tax and time is approaching the end of the year, it’s best to wait until the new year, to ensure you have the most up-to-date books, as tax changes year-on-year.

AAT Exams – Update

AAT exams and assessments are now open again from Monday 29th June 2020.

We're pleased to confirm that AAT assessments will be available again from Monday 29 June 2020, since their suspension due to Covid-19, on the 22nd March 2020.

Based on current information and guidance provided by the Government to help businesses get back on track, the AAT intends to make assessments available from 29th June 2020.


Social distancing guidance

The AAT expect all training providers and assessment venues to act responsibly and ensure they adhere to all government rules and guidelines in relation to social distancing when offering AAT assessments on site. We'll be providing more guidance around social distancing in the coming weeks.

Synoptic windows revised

Synoptic window dates have now been confirmed for the remainder of the year and include additional dates to help with planning and potential capacity issues due to social distancing restrictions. Full details can be found here.

Level 2 synoptic assessments

In agreement with Ofqual, the UK qualifications regulator, the AAT has announced the intention to issue calculated results for eligible students studying the Foundation Certificate in Accounting - Level 2 (Level 5 in Scotland) and Foundation Diploma in Accounting and Business (Level 2).

Results will be issued to students on 13 August and, because of this exercise, we are unable to make the Level 2 synoptic assessment available until after these results are released.

AAT Exams

All exams are computer-based exams and there will be one per module. These exams will need to be taken at your local AAT test centre and the format includes multiple choice questions.

Exam fees are not included in the course cost. Exams cost approximately £60-85 depending on the exam centre.
